We will process repeat prescriptions within 48 hours. To order a repeat prescription, complete the tear off slip attached to your last prescription and hand it or post it to the surgery.

You may also order your prescription online via the link at the top of this page. To use our online services you will need a Practice ID number and Access ID number which is obtained from the practice, and, in conjunction with a password, will be unique to you.

If you have not had a medicine for some time, the doctor may require you to make an appointment before prescribing the medication.

After a number of repeat medications you will be asked to attend for a medication review which will be with the Practice nurse or doctor.

Help with NHS costs

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

• those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
• those who are age exempt
• those with certain medical conditions

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

• 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60
• 3-month PPC: £31.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
